Cong Zhao received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Biomedical Engineering from Zhejiang University in 2010 and 2013, respectively, and his Ph.D. degree in Bioengineering from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) in 2017. From 2017 to 2019, he worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at HKUST, where he translated his doctoral research on personalized circulating tumor cell elasto-filtration microfluidic chips into practical technology, which was later deployed in Hangzhou. From 2020 to 2025, he worked at Shenzhen University and the Guangdong Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Economy (SZ), focusing on intelligent optical fiber sensing technologies and their translation. Since 2025, he has been serving as a Teaching Associate Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Southern University of Science and Technology. He has led three research projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) Young Scientists Fund, published over 30 SCI-indexed papers, and holds 5 granted patents.
